Dear Friends,

Season’s Greetings! As we celebrate the Holidays and close out 2004, it is with great pleasure that we bring you the first official Morrissey for Mayor 2005 Newsletter. We will be issuing these newsletters throughout the campaign to share my vision and plan for the City of Rockford, and provide lists of upcoming events and campaign news. We also invite each of you to share with us your thoughts about the Campaign and the City of Rockford.

Looking back on the past year, we must be mindful that Rockford continues to go through very tough times on many fronts. But strong communities see opportunities - even in down times. In April 2005, I will bring to the Mayor’s office clear leadership that unites this community and capitalizes on those opportunities.

In the ongoing months, we will issue policy positions and action steps. We will discuss how we will create new jobs, improve our schools, and maintain strong and safe neighborhoods throughout the City. We will discuss how we will invest in a balanced transportation network of roadways, pathways, airways, and railways. Most importantly, we will discuss how our new, decisive, and inclusive leadership will provide a clear direction for this community that unites our people to achieve our goals.

Rockford is a town blessed with great resources and great people. We need not fear the future. We must set the bar high and expect greatness. All of you are valuable and will contribute to our shared success. May your holidays be blessed with family, friends and good health.

With a standing-room-only crowd of more than 500 well-wishers, Larry Morrissey officially announced his candidacy for Rockford Mayor on September 28 at the Greater Rockford Airport. Read more...

Morrissey for Mayor team members will be at area holiday shopping/dining venues obtaining more signatures to get Larry on the Ballot.

Larry is the keynote speaker for this event. He will be speaking at 7:30 pm on Education issues.
